How does the Levi's® SecondHand trade-in program work?
Book an appointment to drop off your Levi’s® jeans, denim shorts, and Trucker Jackets at Levi’s® Retail Stores in the U.S. For accepted items, you’ll get a gift card for the value of your trade-in which you can use towards new merchandise at www.levi.com, Levi’s® Retail Stores or Levi’s® Outlet Stores in the U.S. only.
We accept men's and women's denim bottoms, shorts, and jackets with minimum rips, no stains, or missing buttons. We currently accept up to 5 items per trade-in and have a limit of 1 trade-in per month per person. For those that are unwearable, we'll donate or properly dispose of your items. Unwearable examples include large rips and holes, bagging/stretched out, stains, missing buttons for closure, or nonfunctioning zippers as well as cut-off shorts that are too short or uneven. Items must
be pre-washed prior to trade-in drop off.
- Accessories and kids' clothing are not part of the program right now.
- We professionally clean your clothes before sorting and listing them on SecondHand.levi.com.

What’s the Trade-in value of my Levi’s®?
We accept Levi’s jeans and Trucker Jackets in good condition. Trade-in credits range from $5 to $30 based on your item’s age, condition and original retail price. If you’re not sure about the condition of your garment or any trade-in details, don’t worry. Just book an appointment and bring up to 5 items into the store and we’ll take it from there.
Here’s a guide to how we value trade-ins:
- Premium Levi’s collections (Levi’s Made & Crafted and Levi’s Vintage Clothing) from any time period: Up to for $30 Jeans & Truckers, $20 for Shorts.
- Vintage clothing (items that were made more than 20 years ago): Up to $30 Jeans & Truckers, $20 for Shorts.
- Early 2000s: Up to $15 for Jeans and Truckers, $10 for Shorts.
- Current (items made in the past ten years): Up to $5 for Jeans, Shorts, and Trucker jackets
If your trade-in items aren’t in salable condition, you will not receive a gift card and we’ll donate or properly dispose of your items. Unsellable conditions include large rips and holes, bagging/stretched out, stains, missing buttons for closure, or nonfunctioning zippers as well as cut-off shorts that are too short or uneven.
Where can I use my Levi’s® digital gift card?
Your digital gift card is redeemable for new merchandise at Levi.com, Levi’s® Retail Stores or Levi’s® Outlet Stores in the U.S. only. Gift cards are also redeemable on Levi's® SecondHand.
Do you accept all Levi’s® products for Trade-In?
We accept Levi’s® Men’s and Women’s denim bottoms, shorts, and jackets only.
Can I trade-in items I purchased on Levi’s® Secondhand?
Yes! We want to keep your Levi's® in use. If you're no longer using the item you purchased on Levi's® SecondHand, trade it in and we'll help the item start its next chapter. If you're in need of repairs, you can always head to your local Levi's® Tailor Shop for mending.
Where can I trade in my used Levi’s®?
Trade-ins are accepted at select Levi’s® Retail Stores in the U.S. We aren’t accepting trade-ins at our outlet stores or by mail currently. To find your closest Levi’s® store, please use our Store Finder.
Can my Trade-in items be in any condition?
We accept Levi’s® Jeans, denim shorts, and denim jackets in all conditions. For those that are unwearable, you’ll have the option to have us donate or properly dispose of the garments on your behalf in exchange for a 10% discount off your next Levi’s® purchase. Unwearable examples include:
- Large rips and holes
- Stains
- Missing buttons for closure
- Nonfunctioning zippers
Can I mail you my items?
We do not currently accept trade-ins by mail.
Can I trade-in Levi’s® items I purchased from a different retailer?
We accept Men’s and Women’s Levi’s® jeans, denim shorts, and denim jackets regardless of where you first purchased them.
Can I combine multiple trade-ins at the same time?
Yes! We’re happy to accept multiple items at the same time. Trade-ins are limited to a maximum of 5 garments per trade-in and you may only complete 1 trade-in per month.
What if I lose my gift card or it gets stolen?
Levi Strauss & Co. is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged gift cards, or the unauthorized use of a gift card.
What terms apply to participation in the Levi’s® Secondhand Trade-in Program?
BY ACCESSING, USING OR TRANSACTING WITH THE LEVI STRAUSS & CO. TRADE-IN PROGRAM (THE “PROGRAM”), YOU (ALSO “PARTICIPANT”) AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TRADE-IN TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“TRADE-IN TERMS”), THE LEVI STRAUSS & CO. TERMS OF USE (“LS&CO. TERMS”), AND Privacy Notice . The Trade-In Terms are incorporated into and made a part of the LS&Co. Terms to create one agreement between you and Levi Strauss & Co.
- You must be at least 13 years old or older in order to participate in the Program.
- All items must be lawfully owned by the Participant.
- Credit for items traded in will be issued via Levi’s® digital gift card; for use at www.levi.com, Levi's® Retail Stores or Levi's® Outlet Stores in the United States only. A valid email address is required for issuance of digital gift cards, and use of the gift card is subject to our gift card terms found here.
- An appointment is recommended for trade-ins. Levi Strauss & Co. reserves the right to refuse consumers without appointments or request consumers return with a scheduled appointment.
- A consumer can participate in our trade-in program 1 time per month with a max of 5 items per trade-in
- Levi Strauss & Co. reserves the right to refuse items for participation in the Program for any reason in its sole discretion.
- Trade-in credit will be based on a variety of factors, including the item's resale price on Levi's® Secondhand site and its current condition. Item condition, trade-in value (if any), and resale price are each determined at the discretion of Levi Strauss & Co.
- Items submitted for trade-in will not be returned to the Participant for any reason. All trade-ins are final.
- Trade-ins will only be accepted through select Levi's® stores in the United States.
- The Trade-in Terms may be modified from time to time. Please check the Program site from time to time for the latest Trade-in Terms.
