Order Cancellations & Refund Method Clarification
- What happens to my refund if my order is canceled?
If your order is canceled before it ships, we’ll automatically issue a refund based on how your order was placed and paid for.- For online orders:
- Credit or debit card payments are refunded back to the same card.
- Orders paid with a Levi’s® gift card or e‑gift card are refunded to a gift card.
- If you used multiple payment methods, each portion is refunded to the original form of payment used.
- For orders placed in store:
- Refunds for orders originally paid with a Levi’s® gift card or e‑gift card are issued as a new gift card.
- For online orders:
Refunds: Refunds typically appear within 7 business days, depending on your payment provider.
Authorization holds: If an order is canceled before completion, authorization holds are typically released within 7 business days, depending on your payment provider.
- Why was my refund issued as a gift card instead of back to my original payment?
During the return process, customers may choose to receive their refund as a Levi’s® gift card (for example, when selecting refund options in our returns portal).
Once this option is selected and the return is submitted, the refund method cannot be changed. Our Customer Support team is unable to override or adjust the refund method after it has been processed, even if the original purchase was made with a credit or debit card.
If your order was originally paid for using a Levi’s® gift card or e‑gift card, refunds are always issued back to a gift card, regardless of the return method.
Returning by Mail (Online Orders)
- How will I receive my refund if I return an online order by mail using a gift card?
If you return an online order by mail that was paid for with a gift card, your refund will be issued as a new e‑gift card. The e‑gift card will be sent to the original email address associated with your order. Once your return is processed, please allow 2–3 business days to receive the refund email. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder. - Can I return an in‑store purchase using an online or mail return?
No. Items purchased in store cannot be returned by mail. In‑store purchases must be returned to a physical Levi’s® retail location.
Returning to a Physical Store Location
- How will I receive my refund if I return an item to a Levi’s® store?
If you return an item to a Levi’s® retail store that was originally purchased online using a gift card, your refund will be issued in-store as a new physical gift card, unless you request an e‑gift card. Gift card refunds are always issued to a new gift card, even if the original gift card still has a remaining balance.
Orders Paid With Multiple Payment Methods
- How are refunds handled if I used a gift card and another payment method?
If your order was paid using more than one payment method, the portion paid with a gift card will be refunded to a new gift card, and the remaining balance will be refunded to the original non‑gift‑card payment method. Refunds are always returned to the original forms of payment used.

- Are gift cards refundable or redeemable for cash?
No. Gift cards are not refundable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be transferred to another payment method.
Using a Refunded Gift Card
- Where can I use my refunded gift card?
Refunded gift cards can be used at Levi’s® Retail Stores, U.S. Levi’s® Outlet Stores, and online at Levi.com. Gift cards cannot be redeemed at department stores or non‑brand specialty stores.
