Overview
Returns and exchanges can impact your points balance, but we’ve made it simple. This guide covers how your points are affected when you make changes to an order and what to expect if you redeem or earn points during the process
What Happens to My Points?
-
What happens to my points if I return or cancel an order for an online purchase?
-
If you earned points, those points will be removed when the return is processed.
-
If you earned points for an order and then canceled it, they will be removed upon cancellation. Note: Since points are only awarded after an order ships, if the cancellation happens before shipment, you may not see any points adjustment at all.
-
If you used points on the order, your points will be returned to your account with their original expiration date.
-
-
Will the points be deducted in real-time for in-store returns?
Yes, your points should be deducted nearly in real-time when returning in-store.
-
Can I go negative in points?
No. The system will never show a negative balance. If your return exceeds your earned points, your balance will reset to zero.
-
What if I exchange an item?
Points are deducted when the return is processed and then added back for the new item after it ships.
-
If I return something from a double-points promotion, what happens?
The same number of points earned during the promotion will be deducted.
-
Can I redeem my points for the cash equivalent of my reward? No, points cannot be exchanged for cash.
-
What happens to my points if I apply them for a discount but don’t complete my purchase?
If you redeem points for a discount but do not complete your purchase, the points will remain in your account.
Note: Simply clicking “Apply” does not redeem your points. You can remove the reward from your cart at any time by selecting “Undo” or “Remove.” Your full point balance will still appear on your Red Tab™ Rewards page until the purchase is completed.
